Weekly Bulletin Message - 12/23/12

What a great Program we had last week. I cannot count the number of calls, text messages, and complements we had on both the Children’s Program and the Adult Program. Both were very good and I congratulate the CMT and Courtney as well as the Children and the Choir for such a moving performance. It was great to say the least. Thanks to all who made it great too.

Please remember, there will be NO Wednesday Night Service this week. This will give all of us time with our families during this Christmas season. We will pick up Wednesday Evening Bible Study on January 2nd, with a New Study. We are going to be doing a full Discipleship Study on the Doctrines of the Bible. For this reason, please pick up you a vinyl three-hole binder to store your study notes. As we go forward in this study, we will be looking at a lot of doctrines and when we are finished, you will have a very nice book on the Doctrines of the Bible.

Also, I am planning to begin a New Member/New Convert Class the first of the year. If you have never attended one of these classes, it would be good for you to attend. It will be done during the Sunday school hour.

If you wish to help a needy family this year, why not give to our Benevolent Fund. The church will then be able to help them in area’s they need best. Just earmark your check or donation to the Benevolent Fund, New Bethel Baptist Church.

Finally, Ferrell and I want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy and prosperous New Year. We look forward to seeing what God is going to do this great New Year. God bless you all and remember to give the gift that keeps giving forever—Jesus Christ.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 12/9/12

Hello everyone. What a great service we had last Sunday. We are seeing God work in ways that simply blesses the heart. Praise God for His Goodness and Healing Power.

A few weeks ago and ever since, I have been telling you we are going to be changing our Morning Worship Service Style a bit. Please remember, this is not to diminish any of our order of service whatsoever. But, I sincerely believe this will help our Worship Service to be more powerful than ever. Below is a sketch of what our Worship Services will look like on the first Sunday in January.

Welcome: I, the pastor will welcome everyone here and recognize any visitors we may have.

Bulletin and Prayer Time: The following changes in both are as follows:
• Bulletin: Since the bulletin is written out, I will no longer be reading the bulletin to you. Only the announcements that are not in the bulletin or any announcement that might have changed will be read out loud.
• Prayer Time: Each week, you will be given a list of Prayer request on Paper. If you would like your prayer request to be on this single paper, please call Brenda or place it on the Bulletin tear-off tab and fill it out & place it into the collection plate as it comes around. If you have a special prayer request, we will ask you to come and either sit on the front pew or kneel for a special time of prayer. Other than calling out names, we will have those names put on the prayer sheet each week. Many times prayer request are forgotten if they are just called out. Anyone who would like to join us for prayer time can come to the altar and pray with us for those names and others on the Prayer sheet. This will in no way diminish the prayer time but will help it to be smoother.

Fellowship Time: Fellowship time will follow our Prayer time. This would be a great time to have Fellowship time as people are already walking back to their seats.
Song Service: We will now begin our Song Service with hymns, choir, and special music.

Message: The message will follow the song service. This will keep things flowing without interruptions.

Invitation: The invitation will follow the Morning message.

Tithes/Offerings: The Tithes and Offerings will follow the invitation.

Benediction and Close: We will then have our closing prayer and dismissal. Only if there is a Baptism at the end will this change.

I believe this will help our Worship Service greatly and will give us ample time to do all we have to do during our Worship Service. I look forward to a great year and we need your prayers. God Bless to all and have a great week.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 12/2/12

Look over this. I found 2 errors and corrected them. Thanks for your help.
I will print on Thursday.

As Thanksgiving passes, we begin to hear and see the commercialization of the Holiest time of the year. It seems everyone is bidding for your dollar this Christmas. Before all the family get-to-gethers take place, before all the cooking, and before all the giving we do this year, let us take a moment today to remember what Christmas is all about. Christmas is a time of celebration. It is a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior, The Lord Jesus Christ. Oh, how this gets forgotten in all the hustle and bustle of this time of year. I try very hard not to say the word “Holidays” very much. Why, because it diminishes the real reason for the Season.
Christmas also brings with it an end to a year. This may not have been a good year for you or it may have been the best. As I ponder the things that has and has not happened this year, I cannot ever forget one most memorial thing in the past year. “WE CAME HERE TO NEW BETHEL”. Of all the joys Ferrell and I had this past year, coming here was the best. In closing, I want to say three things to each and every one of you here at New Bethel.

1. REMEMBER WHAT CHRISTMAS IS ALL ABOUT
2. LOOK FORWARD TO WHAT GOD IS GOING TO DO IN THE NEW YEAR
3. REMEMBER, WE LOVE EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU

God Bless To All,

Weekly Bulletin Message - 11/18/12

Today is a very special day. This is the Sunday before Thanksgiving. What will we do on Thanksgiving? Probably eat way too much and watch way too much football on TV. However, this is a very good time to just stop what we are doing and Praise God for all he has done for all of us. Setting in my office today doing this article, I came up with some things I am thankful for. See if your list matches mine:
1. Salvation
2. God’s Love
3. Forgiveness
4. My Wife Ferrell
5. My Friends
6. My Family
7. The Opportunity to Serve
These are just a few but there is one more I really need to mention. I am so thankful for YOU, the Congregation of New Bethel Baptist Church. Of all the congregations I have had the honor to serve, you, New Bethel, are one of the greatest, most loving, and most caring. Ferrell and I love all of you very much and we look forward to a great New Year and seeing God work so wonderfully. Please pray for each other and us, as we will be doing the same for you. May this Thanksgiving be one of the best you have ever had. God Bless to all.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 11/11/12

Well, the election is now over and President Obama has four more years in the White House. I know this might be upsetting to some as it was to me. However, we must put this behind us now and move forward ourselves. Look at it this way. At least there will not be any more Political Ads running all the time. We have the obligation of praying for our President even if you did not vote for him and also pray for our country. Our country is really going to need a lot of prayers if things are going to get any better.

Today is Veterans Day and I want to say personally to all those who served in the Military, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SERVING! It is also a time we remember those who paid the supreme sacrifice and gave their lives for this country. As bad as things are in this country, I still love this country and was proud myself to have served in the US Military. Please take time to look over some of the pictures and things of Veterans in our Congregation. I think you will be as proud as I am.

Finally, we will begin work today on Nominations for officers, teachers, and workers here at New Bethel. If one of our Nominating Committee members comes to you, please accept and help us make this next year the best ever. The Deacons have decided to put off the New Budget for 2013 until after the first of the year. This is because the Audit is still going forth and we need to have everything in order before we begin the budget. We will keep the same budget we have until then.

OK, that is just about it. Thank you for being here today and I pray God has blessed you greatly. Please pray for those Baptized today as well. Thanks again and God Bless.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 11/4/12

First, Ferrell and I want to thank all of you for the very nice Cards and Gifts during Pastor Appreciation Month. It was Awesome to say the least. Thanks to all so much.

Secondly, I also want to thank everyone for making our Revival such a great success. Brother Phillip and Brother Andy told me they enjoyed it very much and had high praise for the church. His teachings on Discipleship really touched my heart.

Thirdly, our Homecoming was a great success. From the singing to the eating and all in between was again great. Thanks to all especially the ones who worked in the kitchen and those who brought food. I can’t wait until our next fellowship meal.

Fourthly, I want to thank all those who made our Family Cook-out a great success too. It was a bit cold but it was so much fun. Sorry about not having the dunking tank. I know some of you really wanted to get into that cold water, right! It was fun none the less.

So, what is next? I want the church to be praying for the Nominating Committee and the Deacons as they both begin work on the Nominations for the New Year and the Budget for the New Year. There is still much to be done and a few changes that need to take place. Pray God will have His way in everything that is said and done for our New Year. I feel very confident God is going to do something pretty big this coming New Year.

Remember what Paul said in Philippians 3:13: “forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to things which are before us”. Let’s make New Bethel not only a great church for the New Year but a greater church in the New Year. God Bless to all.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 10/28/12

October 28, 2012
What a great Revival we had this past week. Brother Phillip and Brother Andy did a great job. Thanks to all who came and took part in this great Revival. Thanks to all who fixed food for us. It was all very good and delicious. Now, let’s not let the fires go out! Keep the home fires burning for our Lord.
Also, we want to welcome all to our Homecoming today. It is going to be a glorious day for our Lord. We have with us today “The Reflections of Grace” to minister to us in Song. You will enjoy it I know. In addition, following the service this morning, we will be going down to the fellowship hall for a great time of food and fellowship. So, stick around and enjoy it will us.
Just a few reminders that are taking place and need our attention:
1. Operation Christmas Child. There is information in the stands next to the sound
both.
2.Signup sheet for things to bring to our Family Cookout this Wednesday.
Remember, we will be in the sanctuary to begin with for a short time and then
we will all go outside for a great time.
3. Don’t forget to get you a Survey position sheet to fill out and turn in. This
needs to be turned in by November 4th.
Finally, Ferrell and I would like to thank everyone for all the very nice cards, monetary gifts, gift cards, etc. As I told all of you before, Ferrell and I are the ones who appreciate you so much. Thanks to all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
God Bless to all. Remember, keep looking up, Jesus may come today.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 10/21/12

REVIVAL-------REVIVAL-------REVIVAL
As I was driving into work this morning (Wednesday) I begin to ask myself some questions. One of those questions was “How can I help make this Revival one of the best ever”? This is what came to my mind as I ask that question:

1. Pray Harder: Pray for people to be saved, for lives to be changed, for the Christian to get on Fire for God, and most of all, God’s will to be done.
2. Get involved more: As busy as I have been the last days, I can still get more involved in this Revival. We can all get more involved.
3. Plan to attend: Attend every service. You know there was a man once who had been praying for years about something and God gave him his answer through a Revival service. The only Problem was, he was not there the night God spoke.
4. Expect something to happen: God is still in the business of Miracles. Expect God to answer your prayers, change you, and even more, save that person you have been praying for.
5. Do Not be a Hindrance: One of the things I do not want to do is be a Hindrance to those coming. You may be asking, how in the world can I do this? By either Grieving (cause great distress) or quench (stifle or suppress) the great work of the Holy Spirit.

Revival is here and it is now time to listen to what God has to say. But, much, much, more, let us obey what God ask of us. We are going to have a great time. May the Lord bless all of you.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 10/14/12

October has been set aside as Minister Appreciation Month. However, it is also a time for me, the Pastor, to appreciate you, the congregation of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Ferrell and I are so happy to be here and we both are so happy to be working with all of you. I feel this will be my last ministry and I know God has me here for a reason. There is so much we need to get done and some of it will be very easy to accomplish. However, some of it will take some time to accomplish. I ask you, as your Pastor, to bear with us and look to the greater outcome instead of the short-term effects. I know God is going to do a great work here and I know God wants New Bethel to be a shining light in a world of darkness and sin.

Ferrell and I want to take the opportunity to thank all of you. Thank you for all the vegetables and fruit you have already given us. We put a lot of them up and when we eat them, we will think of you. Thank you for the kindness you have shown and most of all the hospitality we have received. Most of all, thank you for all the love you have shown to us for we have certainly felt all of it. In addition, we want to give that same love to all of you.

And finally, thank you all for working with us here. It takes a lot of work and a lot of people to get things done. In a few weeks the Nominating Committee will begin its work. Do not be afraid to take on some responsibility when asked to. This is the way things get done. God Bless all of you and may the Lord Richly Bless all of you.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 10/7/12

In a very short few weeks, we are going to be having our Fall Revival. Dr. Phillip Burden from Cropwell Baptist Church in Pell City Alabama will be with us to bring the messages. Phillip is one of the best Expository Preachers I have ever heard. His preaching leaves nothing to the imagination and you will be blessed by it. One thing I can say about Phillip, when he preaches one either gets happy or under conviction.

As an added event for our Revival, Brother Phillip will be bringing with him his Music Minister, Brother Andy Hadley. Here is where we need your help. We need the best and biggest Choir ever, at least fifteen. Brother Andy is going to be leading the music and the Choir during this Revival. We need as many as we can to become choir members for this event. Brother Andy is going to be sending us some information we can work on before he and Phillip arrives. In addition, Brother Andy may want to work with the Choir the Saturday before the Revival so we need your help now. Also, Brother Andy and Brother Phillip will be doing a lot of special music each night and folks; you really do not want to miss any of this—not one single night.

So, let’s step up to the plate and let’s make this Revival one of the best we have ever had. Put the dates on your calendar, clear anything that would get into the way of this Revival, and we need as many as we can to be in the Choir during this Revival. It is going to be exciting, I can promise you that. So, let’s get ready for God to Bless us, Call us, and empower us for a great work that lies ahead. God Bless you all.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 9/30/12

The Lord’s Supper—what does this really mean to us, the Christian? As we all know, it was set up by Christ at what was known as the Last Supper and is one of two ordinances of the Church. The other being Baptism. As we are told in the Scriptures, we are to observe the Lord’s Supper as often as we wish. Some churches observe Communion (The Lord’s Supper) on many occasions and some even observe it every Sunday. There is no scripture commanding us on how many occasions to observe the Lord’s Supper.

As for its meaning, I Corinthians 11:26 gives us a perfect picture of the definition of the Lord’s Supper or Communion. Note this Verse: “For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come”. As we take of the Lord’s Supper, we are doing something that most people never thought they would do—“Ye do Shew the Lord’s Death till He comes”. The word “Shew” means to proclaim or preach.

This is a very good picture of the Great Commission. As often as we observe or partake of this Ordinance of the Church, we are proclaiming his Death for the entire world until He comes back for us. This is also a command for us to do this UNTIL our Lord comes back for us.

So, today examine yourselves to see if you are worthy to take and then take of this great Communion. For in doing so, we all proclaim and preach the death of our Lord to the world until He comes back for us in the Rapture. God Bless you all.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 9/23/12

Good Morning. I pray everyone had a great week. This week, we are going to pick up where we left off in the message: “Modeling New Bethel Baptist Church”, in Acts 2:41-47. Last time, we only had time for two verses of our Study Sermon. They were:
Verse 41: People Gladly Received the Word of God, those who received the Word were baptized, and the numbers of baptisms were about three thousand.
Verse 42: The new Church continued stedfastly in Doctrine, Fellowship, Breaking of Bread, and Prayer.

Today, we are going to look at the final Five Verses and we see the following:
1. Verse 43: The Church was stirred with Godly fear
2. Verses 44-45: The Church shared in the Ministries of the Church
3. Verse 46: The Church was united in their Direction
4. Verse 47: The Church Worshipped and Praised God daily

Modeling a Church simply means the church is going to follow a direction. If there is one church we need to model after, it would be the first church which got it right. Remember, do not be a stumbling block to the churches growth. Do not allow the Devil to lead you in a wrong direction. Please remember, everything we do here has been bathed in prayer. God Bless you all and have a great day and week to come.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 9/15/12

What a week this has been. It has been good at times and hard at times. We have seen the highs and lows of life this week. But, isn’t this what life is all about? Nowhere in the Bible does God say life was going to be a “Rose Garden”. In fact, the Bible says almost the opposite. Note what Jesus said in the following words: “John 16:33: These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world”.

Note a few things mentioned in this Verse.
1. In Christ we will have Peace
2. In the World we will have Tribulation
3. Be Happy, for Christ has overcome the World

So, according to this Verse of Scripture, we can have peace and assurance with God even when we are going through the Trials and Tribulations of this world. We all have our mountain tops. However, we also all have our valleys. In addition, remember this. It is in the Valley where we learn the most. While on the Mountain Top, we are having fun and excited. In the Valley is when we call on God the most. Be of Good Cheer, for Christ has overcome this World.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 9/9/12

First, I want to thank everyone for the Great Response to last week’s message. I do appreciate all the kind words but we must remember, let’s give God Praise and not man. But, I really do thank all of you.

This week’s sermon continues on the subject of “Building a Great Church for the Lord”. Our last two sermons were on:

1. Opening our Spiritual Eyes
2. Becoming a True Disciple of Christ

This week we are going to look at the subject: “Modeling New Bethel Baptist Church”. All Churches Model themselves after other churches. Why? Because other churches may be doing something we want to see happen in our own church. The Best Model we can Model after is the very first Church. Note the Outline to this message today:

1. Verse 41: The Church Received the Word of God Gladly
2. Verse 42: The Church was steadfast & Continued in the following:
a. Doctrine
b. Fellowship
c. Breaking of Bread
d. Prayer
3. Verse 43: The Church was stirred with Godly Fear
4. Verse 44-45: The Church shared in the Ministries
5. Verse 46: The Church was United in their Direction
6. Verse 47: The Church Worshipped and Praises God

If we would follow this Outline here, we will become a Great Church for our Lord. Have a great week in the Lord. We love all of you.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 9/1/12

Greetings to all. What a great week it was. Many things took place this week. Some of them not so good but overall, very good. I want to bring to your attention again this week, the Series of Sermons I am bringing entitled “Five Steps to a Growing Church”. Last week we begin by looking at “Opening our Spiritual Eyes”. This week, we will be looking at the subject of “A True Disciple of Christ”: Taken from Luke 14:25-33.

In this message, we will look at four things from these verses. They are:

A Determination to Love God
A Denial of Self
A Decision to Go forward
A Dedication that goes far beyond anything in this world

I wanted to let all know that I am working hard getting things ready for our New Year here at New Bethel. I believe next year is going to be the best ever for New Bethel. Our Nominating Committee has been set and will begin their work very soon. They are: Johnny Rider (who will be the chairman), Anthony Kesler, Brenda Hallford, Gail Pritchett, Jennifer Cox, Barry Crunkleton and myself. The Deacons will be working on our New Church Budget this coming year. Remember, there is a place for you to serve here so step up and let us know. God Bless us all and may the Lord Jesus Christ richly Bless all of you.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 8/26/12

One of the hardest things to do in a church is do some simple changes. We are creatures of habit and just do not like change. As I said last week in my Sermon Message, New Bethel has some great potential for church growth. In fact, more than I have ever seen in any past churches I have been affiliated with. With this in mind, we need to be ready for this Growth by preparing ourselves. In the next following weeks, I am going to be doing a Series on “Five Steps to a Growing Church”. Below are the Five Sermons I will be preaching during this Series:

1. Opening our Spiritual Eyes
2. Learning & Applying Total Commitment
3. Modeling New Bethel Baptist Church
4. Learning & Applying Trust
5. Overcoming Obstacles that will kill a church

Today’s Message is “Opening our Spiritual Eyes”. Scripture: II Kings 6:8-17. Below is the Sermon Outline of Today’s Message:

Introduction: The Background on II Kings 6:8-17
As a Church, we need to get our Spiritual Eyes Open to the following Things:

To Life’s Greatest Need: Salvation
To Life’s Greatest Power: The Holy Spirit
To Life’s Greatest Adventure: Witnessing
To Life’s Greatest Person: Jesus Christ

Closing Statement: We may not like what we see when our Spiritual Eyes are open especially when we see ourselves.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 8/19/12

I pray everyone had a great week in the Lord. This week has been a good one. We continue to celebrate the Baptisms and Memberships of those who were Baptized and United with us last Sunday. May the Lord richly Bless all of you.

This week's article is somewhat different. It will contain an outline of my message today. Why? Because we are at another step, so to speak, here at New Bethel. I have given you my Vision and I have preached on church growth in some way each week. Now, it is time to get personal. By saying that, I mean we all need to get busy if we are ever going to reach our Goal and Vision the Lord has given us. The Title to my Message this week is: " What God Requires of us". Our Scripture is taken from Micah 6:8. The Outline of my Message is as follows:
1. God Requires Accountability
2. God Requires Responsibility
3. God Requires Availability
As we progress to apply these three (3) things in our lives, we will see New Bethel take the next step to becoming the church God wants us to be. Remember, this is not for a few but for all. God Bless.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 8/11/12

Praise God, we are finally in our home in Bowman. Although we still have a lot yet to do, it feels really great to come home, to your personal home. There is nothing like the feeling of coming home after a long and prosperous day. Kind of makes one think of another home one day for those who have trusted Christ. It is called our heavenly home. When we are finished with our prosperous journey on this earth, we will be welcomed home by our Lord. Loved ones who have gone on before will be waiting on us there. Listen carefully at what Jesus said concerning our heavenly home:

John 14:1-6. (The Amplified Bible)
1 DO NOT let your hearts be troubled (distress, agitated). You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me.
2 In My Father’s house there are many beautiful homes. If it were not so, I would have told you; for I am going away to prepare a place for you.
3 And when (if) I go and make ready a place for you, I will come back again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also.
4 And (to the place) where I am going, you know the way.
5 Thomas said to Him, Lord we do not know where You are going, so how can we know the way?
6 Jesus said to him, I am the Way and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except by (through) Me.

It is good to go home and one day, those who have placed their trust in the Lord Jesus Christ will go home, their final home—Praise the Lord!

Weekly Bulletin Message - 8/4/12

Hello to each of you on this beautiful Lord’s Day. What a wonderful Communion service last Sunday. The Holy Spirit’s presence was so powerful.

Ferrell and I would like to thank everyone who helped us last Tuesday. The men found out about the heavy furniture. There is still a lot to be done to get organized, but we are getting close. When everything is completed there will be an Open House for all of you to come by.

The next few weeks we are working to build up Sunday School Classes. Call and Invite people, send notes, emails or text, whatever you are comfortable with doing. Three reasons Sunday School is so beneficial to us is: 1. Bible Study-feeding on the Word of God is just as essential to the Christian’s spiritual growth as food is to physical growth. 2. Evangelism-the Sunday School is the arm of the church that leads in reaching people for Christ and the church. 3.Application-One important objective of the Sunday School is to lead members not only to understand the message of the Bible but to see how it applies to their daily lives.

We need everyone working together to bring glory and honor to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 7/29/12

Hello to all in the name of the Lord:

This week’s article is about going forward. The Apostle Paul wrote these words in Philippians 3:13 as he described going forward: “Forgetting those things which are behind and reaching for those things which are ahead”. There is absolutely nothing we can do about what has happened in the past but we can do something about the future.

As I entered the pastoring of a small church once, I noticed everyone reminded me of the last pastor. He did this and he did that. One wonderful gentleman told me once the following: “Our last pastor would cut the grass for the parsonage and the church. Would you have any problem with this?” I just looked at him and said; “No, if you want to get the last pastor to cut the grass at the parsonage and church, I have no problem with that at all.” Well, this did not go over very well but it got my point through. What happened five, fifteen, or even twenty years ago is gone and over with. Let’s move forward for the cause of Christ now.

In the months to come, I am going to be presenting some things to you that will help this church to grow. Before you give up on it quickly, give it a try. If it does not work, we will try something else. I fully believe New Bethel is going to grow but it will take hard work by all. Let’s work together to make New Bethel the best church in the world.

Important reminder about this Sunday July 29th

This is just a friendly reminder that we will have the Lord's Supper this Sunday during the 11:00 service.

THERE WILL NOT BE AN EARLY SERVICE HELD THIS SUNDAY!

Weekly Bulletin Message - 7/22/12

First, I want to congratulate Zach and Amanda Pritchett. They were saved following the Morning Service last week. I look forward to baptizing them along with Brittany in the near future. May the Lord look after them and take good care of them. Praise the Lord.

Now, for the rest of my article this week; as you all may be aware, our Pre-School Program is having a hard time getting the funding it needs to continue. WE NEED YOUR HELP! How can we all help our Pre-School to continue for years to come? Here are some suggestions:

1.Get on Board and get involved: One of the greatest things you or anyone can
do is support and get on board for our Pre-School.
2.Offer your support monetarily: Yes, it does take money to operate the Pre-
School. Just as it takes money to operate the church, the pre-school is the
same.
3.Sponsor a child: There are many who would love to come to Pre-School but
with the economic conditions, are unable. Please remember, Pre-School is not a
business, “IT IS A MINISTRY OF THE CHURCH”.
4.One final point to ponder: Each of these children that come to the Pre-School
Program is an investment in their future. The Bible is taught, they are loved,
and most of all, they come to know Christ quicker.

I will leave you with this thought. It is time we ask ourselves a question. Do we want to expand our Ministries here at New Bethel? If we do, then Pre-School is a great way to begin. God Bless you all.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 7/15/12

Our Sunday School is one of the most important times in our lives. Sunday School is a time of Bible study, fellowship, and most of all, spiritual growth. Let me ask a very simple question today-If you do not attend Sunday School, WHY NOT? There has to be a reason.

The answer to this simple question is going to be the difference between a Sunday School that is not working and a Sunday School that is thriving. There really is no reason why our Sunday School is not growing.

Statistics show that 97 percent of people attend Sunday School because someone invited them. Do we invite others to attend? Do we call them or even go and see them? People are not just going to get up and come to Sunday School. It is going to take a lot of work if we are going to have a Sunday School second to none.

This is going to be our first growth project. I need your help. We must work together if we are going to have a great Sunday School. In the days and weeks to follow, we will be having Sunday School meetings to see what we can do to help our Sunday School. What can you do right now to help? ATTEND!!! That's right. Show your support for Sunday School by getting involved. There is a class for you today. God bless to all.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 7/8/12

I pray everyone had a great Fourth of July Celebration. Just to know we live in this great country makes me feel proud of being an American. As an American, we have a duty to this Country to stand for what is right. This year is an Election year. Have you thought about it very much? Think of this; if we can turn this nation around for God once again, think of how wonderful this would be. Can we do it? Of course we can. Remember this Scripture: Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

I want to remind everyone the church has already voted to buy new chairs for the Choir. We are asking anyone who can to buy a Chair. One chair cost $37.00. You may not be able to pay for a chair by yourself but anything you might be able to give will be a blessing. Some have already given their money and the deacons have all pledged to buy at least one chair. We want to order as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your help.

Thought for the Day: A Definition of an Antagonist: Someone who on the basis of non- substantial evidence, goes out of their way to make insatiable demands, usually attacking the person or performance of others; these attacks are selfish in nature, tear down rather than build up, and are frequently directed against leadership.

Have a great week in the Lord.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 7/1/12

Before I write my article this week, I want to let everyone know what a great time Ferrell and I had with the youth this week. I am very proud of them and we also want to thank the teachers that were there. Everyone had a great time. Special thanks to Anthony, Susan, Chrystal, and Betty for all their great work. It was a great time.

I want to dedicate the rest of my article to one subject this week--Our Pre-School. Many of you already know Mrs. Karen resigned to take another position this week. She did so much for our Pre-school and we want to wish her well and God's speed. Please be praying for Mrs. Karen and her new job.

Also we need your prayers for our Pre-school in the coming year. At this point, we are below the number of students needed. If you know someone who might be considering sending their child to Pre-school, let them know about New Bethel Pre-school Program. In additional, if you would like to sponsor a child in Pre-School this year, please let us know. Your investment will pay dividends for years to come and could be instrumental in bringing a child to Christ. Remember, we cannot place a price on Salvation.

If you can help in other ways, please see Brenda or myself and let us know. Remember to pray and ask the Lord to open doors for all of us. Thanks to all and God bless.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 6/24/12

Hello to all in the Name of Our Lord,

What a great week this has been. I do not think I have been this busy in years but it is exciting to be working for the Lord. I have been working on our “Long Range” Goals for New Bethel and I must say, this is going to be very exciting and promising. Begin Praying right now for your calling in God. What is your Spiritual Gift? What has God called you to do? Find out what it is and let’s go to work for our Lord Jesus Christ.

Ferrell and I want to thank everyone who came out and helped us with the yards at our Home in Bowman. It was a blessing to see all those men working and the yards are beginning to take shape. We have a few more things to do but the big things are now taken care of. Thanks to all who helped us this past Saturday. God Bless you all.

This is very important. We want to be sure all prayer requests/announcements are placed where they need to be. In order for us to do this, we are asking something of you. If you have a special Prayer request/announcement whether it is for family or friend, please use the pull off tab on the bulletin, flip it over and about two thirds way down, you will see a place to check for Prayer Request/announcements. Please check this and the lines below, please write in your announcement or prayer request. I can assure you it will get to the right hands and committee. This will assure your prayer request gets placed in the bulletin.

Story Time: A doctor, who was superintendent of the Sunday school, asked one of the boys this question: "William, what must we do in order to get to heaven?"
"We must die," said Willie.
"Very true," replied the doctor, "but what must we do before we die?"
"We must get sick and send for you."

May the Lord Bless you all: Pastor Wade

Weekly Bulletin Message - 6/17/12

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY. What a great day this is as we honor all our Dad’s out there. What is your fondest memory of your Dad? For me, it was the time he taught me how to swim. He took me down to the river below the house. He then jumped in and said; “Come on Wade, you can do it”. The water came up to my Father’s neck which would make it way over my head. I was afraid. But, he assured me he would never let me go under. I got up enough courage and I jumped in. But, to my surprise, Dad was on his knees so the water was not over my head. Dad taught me how to swim that day and I will never forget it. This is much like our Heavenly Father. He is always there to keep us from going under. If we trust Him, he will keep us floating.

Now, a word or two about our Vacation Bible School this year. Without a doubt, it was the best I have ever had the opportunity to be involved in. I want to give a special thanks to all the men and ladies who took part in this year’s VBS. It was a complete success. The kids loved the race cars and we had a few grudge races as well. There were 96 children enrolled and 63 adults. THANKS FOR MAKING THIS YEARS VBS A WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE.

I am so excited over what is happening here at New Bethel. I can see something great on the horizon. Keep coming to the First Service. Don’t forget about Sunday School and remember the Second Worship Service as well. Remember, we must work together for God to use New Bethel Baptist Church. God Bless to all. We are looking forward to really moving forward in the next months.

MEMORY VERSE FOR TODAY: Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 6/10/12

What a great week we have had. Beginning with last Sunday where Six (6) wonderful young people were baptized, it was just a great week. For those who did not make it Wednesday Evenings Bible Study, we are continuing in the “Book of James”. Last Wednesday, we looked at what True Religion was all about.

Don’t forget about VBS beginning tonight:
VBS is not just for kids anymore. I will be teaching an Adult Class with five great lessons. So, come on out and enjoy the fun. We are going to “Rev it up for God and go into Full Throttle”.

Ferrell and I need your help:
Please remember, we are setting up a Yard Clean-up day on June 23rd, (Saturday) about 8:00 AM for our Home in Bowman. We sure could use some help with Bush hogging, Cutting down a few trees (one very large one), and removing an old garage. The old garage has plenty of old but good wood in it if anyone wants it and the trees will produce a bunch of fire wood. Thanks to all who will be helping us out on this.

Long Range Church Growth Plans:
I have been working hard on putting together a long range growth plan for the church. Once VBS and Vacations are over, I will be introducing these plans to the church. Please be praying on how God can use you to help New Bethel Grow and Prosper in the name of the Lord. God bless you all and have a great week in the Lord.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 6/3/12

Praise the Lord, God is very good, all the time. What a great service we had last Sunday as we celebrated two events. First, we celebrated our Memorial Day remembering all those who served and gave their lives for this country. Secondly, we celebrated with those who graduated from High School, a wonderful time in their lives. We wish them all the best.

Today, we celebrate again but this time with all those who are following the Lord in Believer’s Baptism. I again want to wish all of them the best in life and may their lives be a witness for our Lord Jesus Christ. What is Baptism and why are we baptized?

1. Baptism was set for by our Lord Jesus Christ as one of the two ordinances of the Church. The other being the Lord’s Supper.
2. Baptism simply means to be immersed totally
3. Jesus Himself, who did not need to be baptized ask John the Baptist to baptize him as to set the example for all of us today.
4. The direct meaning of Baptist is as follows:
a. Baptist shows the world the person has been saved by our Lord’s Precious Blood
b. Baptist shows the world the person has died with Christ as shown by the Watery Grave
c. Baptist shows the world the person will be resurrected with Christ one day.
I praise God for each and every one of our candidates today and let us all pray for them as they begin their new lives with Christ Jesus. They will need all the encouragement and lifting up as they can get.

In a few weeks, I am planning a work day at our home in Bowman to get the yards cleaned up. Some of the men here have expressed the desire to help Ferrell and I get the yards cleaned up. We will need a bush-hog, front-end loader, chain saws, and yard rakes & such. If you would like to help, please let me know. The date will probably be right after VBS. Oh, by the way, come on out for VBS. It is going to be exciting. Have a great week and may the Lord Bless you all.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 5/27/12

Praise the Lord, God is at Work, all the time. What a great service we had last Sunday. God truly spoke to my heart as I preached on Romans 1: 19-23. There were a few questions concerning verse 20 that I would like to address. What is this verse really saying?

Nature shows us a God of might, intelligence, and intricate detail; a God of order and beauty; a God who controls powerful forces. That is general revelation. Through special revelation (the Bible and the coming of Jesus), we learn about God's love and forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life. God has graciously given us both sources that we might fully believe in him. God reveals his divine nature and personal qualities through creation, even though creation's testimony has been distorted by the fall. Adam's sin resulted in a divine curse upon the whole natural order; thorns and thistles were an immediate result, and natural disasters have been common from Adam's day to ours. In Romans 8:19-21, Paul says that nature itself is eagerly awaiting its own redemption from the effects of sin.

Also, there have been some questions concerning the “Accountable Reimbursement Policy”. The Accountable Reimbursement Policy has been placed in the Records of the church for me, the pastor and any future Staff the church might have. This is something I have to do according to the IRS and to help me with my Salary. The church policy on the “Purchase Orders” is still the same. If someone needs to be reimbursed for something they purchased for the church, please bring you ORIGINAL receipt for the item(s) purchased to the office and the process for the reimbursement will be take place. I pray this has helped you to understand. God Bless to all and have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 5/20/12

What a great Sunday we had last week. The Baby dedication was awesome, the signing was right from Heaven, and the Message touched many hearts. It was a great day for all you Mom’s out there and I pray you had a great day.

Dr. J.B. Gambrel tells an amusing story from General Stonewall Jackson’s famous valley campaign. Jackson’s army found itself on one side of a river when it needed to be on the other side.

After telling his engineers to plan and build a bridge so the army could cross, he called his wagon master in to tell him that it was urgent the wagon train cross the river as soon as possible. The wagon master started gathering all the logs, rocks and fence rails he could find and built a bridge. Long before day light General Jackson was told by his wagon master all the wagons and artillery had crossed the river. General Jackson asked where are the engineers and what are they doing? The wagon master’s only reply was that they were in their tent drawing up plans for a bridge. From the Pulpit Helps, May, 1991

Kind of makes you think doesn’t it. There are some who spend more time planning than they do building. As a church, we will always make plans to do things. However, when something needs to be done, we all need to go to work and get it done. It will take everyone here at New Bethel to build a great Church for God. We already have the plans in the Word of God. Let’s rise and build and make God proud.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 5/13/12

Happy Mother’s Day! Ferrell and I want to wish all you Moms out there the best day ever. This is a special day. Mother's Day is our chance to honor the women who bind families together and raise children from babies to adulthood. Raising good kids is one of the most challenging, and also the most meaningful, things I've ever done. If you have not gotten your Mother a Gift for Mother’s Day, here are some things I found in Reader’s Digest not to buy her. Have a Great Mother’s Day.
 Don’t buy anything that plugs in. Anything that requires electricity is seen as utilitarian.
 Don’t buy clothing that involves sizes. The chances are one in seven thousand that you will get her size right, and your wife will be offended the other 6999 times. .
 Avoid all things useful. The new silver polish advertised to save hundreds of hours is not going to win you any brownie points.
 Don’t buy anything that involves weight loss or self-improvement. She’ll perceive a six-month membership to a diet center as a suggestion that’s she’s overweight.
 Don’t buy jewelry. The jewelry your wife wants, you can’t afford. And the jewelry you can afford, she doesn’t want.
 Finally, don’t spend too much. “How do you think we’re going to afford that?” she’ll ask. But don’t spend too little. She won’t say anything, but she’ll think, “Is that all I’m worth?”

Weekly Bulletin Message - 5/6/12

If I had only one word to describe my first Sunday here at New Bethel it would be “Fantabulous” and this is a real word. It is defined as “the highest form of Awesome”. If there were any doubt as to if God wanted me here it is gone now. We had two great services for our Lord. Ferrell and I want to thank you all for accepting us like you have. God Bless you all. Now down to business.

I want to remind all those who want to take part in the Mother’s Day Baby Dedication to get your information to me or Brenda today! We have things we need to purchase and we need to know all the information today: (Babies full name, Parents Name, & Birthday of child).

Baptism: I know recently that many have been saved. Those saved need to be baptized in accordance to the Word of God. We are now working to set up a date that will be good for every if possible. If you want to be baptized, please place your full name on a piece of paper and give it to Connie Harris.

One final thought: Please be patient with us as we continue to settle in. It is going to take a while for our home to be completed. I am in the Office everyday unless I am out visiting. If you need me, please call the church and Brenda can get in touch with me. We look forward to Ministering to all of you and getting to know each and every one of you personally in the future. Let’s make New Bethel the best church ever for our Lord. Oh, one more thing; we will be getting our phones changed in about a week. We will post those numbers in the church bulletin for all of you. Thank you again for calling us here. Now, let’s go forward for our Lord.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 4/15/12

God is good and so are all of you. Thank you for making the Easter Services so special. To all who set up the area for the services, the cooking, the preaching, the singing, the attending, the flowers, the web site, and whatever part you did.
We welcome Pastor Bridges and Ms. Ferrell with open arms and hearts. God has provided us abundantly with many, many good people here at New Bethel. All have worked to make this the place to come and worship. As I have said many times, I love this church and everyone in it.
The sermon last week on “The Elements of the Resurrection” was outstanding. Because of The Person, plan, and promise of resurrection, we have the power in the resurrection that we are alive in Christ and we will never, ever die. We have much to celebrate. Glory to His Name!
Someone told me this week that prayer is not a spare wheel that we pull out when we are in trouble, but a steering wheel that directs us in the right path throughout life. While this has been a tough physical time for me in the last couple of weeks, I never for one minute doubted that God was on my side and holding me in the palm of his hand. The deacons and members of this church have lifted me up in prayer and I felt the love shown to me during this time.
As we begin our new journey with Dr. Bridges, let’s give of our personal resources, our abilities, and our time to serve God with love and compassion in our hearts. Keep Pastor Bridges and Ms. Ferrell in prayer and all of our congregation, friends, and neighbors.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 4/1/12

We as a church are blessed to have had such godly, Christian men to preach. Rev. Johnny Thomas and his wife Linda were here for the month of March and what a joy to have had them. They had an effect on so many of us.
Today Bro. Joey Stewart will bring the message at both services. He has preached three other times and has brought spirit filled messages to the people. He and his wife Janet have two children. We also have Robert Franklin, Jr., who will share his testimony.
It has been 6 months since the fire and the church is getting real close to being finished with all restoration.
Keep on praying and let’s all work together for the glory of God.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 3/25/12

What a good service we had Sunday & Wednesday. It is so good to have Rev. Thomas to preach to us about “The Road to Calvary” and how important it is for us to walk that road. He preached that we must be a forgiving church. We must forgive with love in our hearts. God wants everyone to have eternal life. Some people do not even know that they are lost and going to hell UNTIL we give them the plan of salvation. We must be a witness for God, no matter where we are. Sunday’s message came from Luke, Wednesday’s message came from Matthew. It has been said to me many times that one cannot out give God. As Rev. Thomas said Wednesday night, if we put 1st things 1st, the 2nd things are thrown in. We must put Jesus 1st in our lives and the rest just falls into place, even better than we could have imagined.
The search committee has made a recommendation and they did this with much earnest prayer. We will begin today following the process of election. Please pray earnestly that God’s will be done.
If you have a chance, read 1st, 2nd and 3rd John. I read them this week and it lifted my spirits. We are a loving and forgiving family of God, for which I am thankful to be a part.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 3/18/12

Rev. Thomas spoke both Sunday & Wednesday night from Matthew. We must be totally committed to following Jesus. We are different and should act differently. As we pass through this world, we must keep our minds on God. To be different, by focusing on God and not trying to be worldly, we just might be a stepping stone instead of a stumbling block to others. How blessed we are to be able to come and worship with others here at New Bethel. As Rev Thomas said, “It is God’s will for us to be in church”. The Preschool is back. Pray for the leaders and the children as they adjust to yet another change this school year.
What a wonderful set of deacons who want to serve you and God. Please let us know if there is anything you need from us. Keep praying for the pulpit committee.
God’s promise to us is that he will never leave or forsake us. What more can we ask of Him? With Him, we have everything. GLORY TO HIS NAME!!

Weekly Bulletin Message - 3/11/12

What a good week we have had!
Rev. Thomas preached Sunday from Ephesians Chapter 4 about a plea for the church to minister to everyone, whether at work, home, church building, etc. He also talked about the purpose for unity in the church. We should have the same goal but because of different personalities and talents, each will go about reaching that goal differently. The next point was progress in the church. What we believe and teach today will be the actions of those tomorrow.
I want to thank Mike and Jill Neave and Chris Rochester for all of their hard work last week on the sound system. There is still a lot to be done to get it right, but with Donald and the committee’s persistence, it will happen. It was good to have Josh back on the guitar with Courtney and Mallory singing.
Keep praying for the pulpit committee. They are working hard to make the right decisions.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 3/4/12

Can you believe that we are finally back into our sanctuary? What a beautiful job has been done. God is good all the time! Thank you Donald, Billy, Calvin and Darrell. We could not ask for anything to be any better. It is one of the most beautiful places to worship and as I have said before, “I love this place.”

Dr. Bridges preached from Isaiah and Mark last Sunday. How many times have we been told to look in a mirror and truly see who we are and what we can do about it? We do need to examine our self so we can see the true self, and then we can become totally committed to serving God. As it says in Isaiah 6:8, “Also I heard the voice of the Lord saying, whom shall I send and who will go? Then said I, Here am I: Send me.” I heard Roger Farrow say, “God does not need our ability, God needs our availability.” Dr. Bridges challenged us to see God as we should, worship God as we should, invite God’s power in and then we will see ourselves and others forgiven as we have never seen before.

The Challenge: Go and Tell!

Dykes

We would like to express our thanks for allowing us to come and be with you Sunday and tonight (Wednesday). Please pray for us as we will be in much prayer for all of you. In just a short period of time, we have grown to love you all. Thank you again and God’s Blessings on all at New Bethel.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 2/26/12

Brother Derrick Woody spoke on “Seeing the Unseen” from II Corinthians, Chapter 4. He spoke on how things look on the outside. Sight is so precious. He said that to not have a vision is much worse than being blind. MAN! What if God judged us for the times we fail, lose our cool, think bad of others, etc. A scripture in Matthew 7: 1 & 2 says, “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again”. What do you see when you look at our speaker, our deacons, the people that attend church, or maybe our
neighbor? Don’t judge, just pray for yourself and others. See the good in people and the good in our church. We must not focus on things here because the reason Jesus died was that we might have eternal life. We must know that problems do not last forever. As Brother Woody said, “If our natural looks change daily then why would problems not change?”

Pray for our pulpit committee. They are Anthony Kesler, Jeff Smith, Anthony Cox, Ann Hortman, John Taylor, Connie Harris, and Tim Moore. They have a tremendous responsibility and we have faith that they will make the right decision for our church.

If we are to live like Jesus, then we need to live for others. It is so good to be a part of such a caring church family.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 2/19/12

Another good speaker last Sunday. Joey Stewart started his sermon from Matthew, Chapter 28 by relating it to an army. He said that when the command is given to army recruits to jump or crawl, they do not ask how low or how high. The recruits just jump as high or crawl as low as they can, because that might be their only means of survival. How do we obey in God’s Army? Do we ask, “how high or how low” or do we just react as we should? It could make a change, not only in our life but in the lives of others as well. Our survival for eternity depends on our belief in God and for others to reap the same benefit. WE MUST BE IN GOD’S ARMY. We must witness and teach His love to others. Jesus died for us and all we have to do is claim Him. We must meet none-believers on their level, no matter how high or how low and love them unconditionally as Jesus does.

Brother Stewart preached about Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing on Wednesday night from Matthew Chapter 7. He said that because our church is definitely in a time of new beginning, we should test the spirit of those who serve. It is so important for us to know what is being taught to our youth and adults. We need to stand firm on our beliefs that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. We need to be bold about giving our testimony and about asking others about their beliefs.
As I read somewhere this week: God won’t ask the square footage of our house. He’ll ask how many people we welcomed into our home. God won’t ask why it took so long to seek salvation. He will lovingly take us to our mansion in heaven and not to the gates of hell. Never give up on anyone as God never gave up on me.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 2/12/12

Well we had another great day Sunday. Brandon Crunkleton spoke on “Biblical Assurance” from 1st John Chapter 5. He also did a really good one Wednesday night from Jeremiah 5 on “Your Responsibility to God”. I think God used Brandon to speak to me. Brandon is so right when he said that God even knows our thoughts. He challenged us to look at ourselves and see, or rather make sure that we are in God’s will. We should humble ourselves before God and before men. There is so much work to be done for His kingdom and we are the ones to do the work. Who else would do it? God has given us the power and the knowledge to do whatever He wants us to do. So let’s keep up the good work and add even more.

If you are not in Sunday School, you cannot imagine what you are missing. The young People including the young adults are meeting in the trailers and the seniors meet in the fellowship hall. We have wonderful leaders. Our leaders place so much time and effort into making sure that our youth and adults enjoy being at New Bethel and learning The Word.

What a blessing it is to serve with so many good people in this church. I love this place more and more every day. No matter what I ask of anyone here, they always do their best without complaining. As each of you can tell, we are using lots of different people in lots of different areas, whether to pray, to lead the congregation, take up the offering, work on a bad electric cord, turn on the heat, turn off the heat, etc. If you have a desire to do something special here, please tell me, Brenda, or one of the deacons know and we will try to make it happen. We need and want all of you to enjoy worshiping our Wonderful Savior as we do. Our goal is to make this a place that people want to be and a place that we can lead others to Christ. Again as Brandon said last week, “We must walk the walk and talk the talk because we may be the only pulpit that some might see”.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 2/5/12

WOW! What a message from Chris Hewett on Sunday morning. His message focused on a lost sheep, a lost coin, and a lost son from Luke Chapter 15. Then came Wednesday night. His message was from Revelation 20:10-15 on “What’s going to happen?” HELL IS REAL and in our most vivid minds, we cannot possibly know how bad it is. There will be a judgment day for all. HEAVEN IS REAL and we cannot imagine how wonderful it will be. We will live forever in one of the two places….. Our Choice.

I am so thankful that someone had the courage to say to me, “Dykes, if you were to die today, where would you go?” and at the same time I had the courage to say that I wanted to be saved because I did not know for sure. That was the best day of my life and I have not been the same since. I plead with you, please don’t die and go to hell. That would make us all so sad. Choose to live forever in Heaven. When one chooses to be saved, we rejoice, along with all of our friends. Romans 10: 9 says. “ that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved”. If you give your heart to God and become filled with The Holy Spirit, you cannot help but show joy to others around you. Because of your witness, others just might be saved and their names be written in “The Lamb’s Book of Life”.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 1/29/12

Greetings brothers and sisters in Christ! How wonderful that we have the freedom to gather together each week to celebrate our Savior and be refreshed by the Word of the Lord. I greatly appreciated Bob’s prayer last Sunday in asking God to unify us and hold us together during these times of change in our church. Then Brother Roger Whiten echoed that sentiment in opening his message by saying it is rare to find a church that will come together when facing the challenges such as the ones we have been dealing with and continue to deal with.

God’s Word has a lot to say about unity in the church body, and the message is very clear: 1 Corinthians 1:10 “Now I Beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” Philippians 1:27 “Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;” 1 Peter 3:8 “Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:”

I’ve listed just a few verses that address unity in order to whet your appetite. Therefore, my challenge to you (and to myself) this week is to take some time reading about, meditating on, and praying for unity in the church. Let us continue to come together for the common purpose of glorifying Most High God as we strive to lead others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

Here are a few more scripture references to get your Bible study started: Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 10:17; Galatians 3:28; Ephesians 4:13; 2 Corinthians 13:11; Ephesians 4:3; Isaiah 11:13; Isaiah 52:8; John 10:16; John 17:21; Ephesians 2:14; Judges 20:11; Matthew 18:19.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 1/22/12

We have had another blessed week at New Bethel with Brent Ware as our speaker. As he spoke from Ephesians, chapter 1, he titled the sermon, “Who Am I?” We are a child of The King. We have the greatest answer and we are sometimes hesitate to give it to others. Everyone needs Christ! We know as Christians what we need to do, but are we willing to tell others how wonderful God’s love is and how to get to be with Him forever and ever and ever?
Thanks to all who agreed to serve in any capacity of our church in 2012. Whether anyone else knows what you are doing, you know, and so does God. Although we take much for granted, we appreciate the things that are done to make “worshiping God our priority”.

We may have incurred somewhat of a set-back with our church pews, but I am a firm believer that all things happen for a reason. We are keeping in constant contact (the committee almost daily) with the ones who are rebuilding and we must remember that God is good all the time and He is always on time and on target.

May each of you know that you are important here at New Bethel and you are loved.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 1/15/12

We met with the insurance company this week and the construction is progressing well. We should be in the sanctuary in about three weeks.

Justin Baskins preached last Sunday from Daniel about being prepared to meet our Lord. One of his statements that stuck in my mind was, “It would be so sad to climb a 45 foot ladder for years and learn that it was leaning on the wrong wall”. Actually, it would be sad for me to climb a ladder of any length and find out it was in the wrong place.

While running a race, someone lost the chip off his shoe, which was placed there to prove that he had in fact ran. After he had finished the long race, there was no record of his running at all. This could be the way it is for us. We can run a good race, do the right things, obey the law, and go to church but if at the final checking point---HEAVEN---we haven’t accepted Christ as our Savior and our name is not in The Lamb’s Book of Life, we will be disqualified to enter.

My hope and prayers are that all will be qualified to enter Heaven.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 1/8/12

Thanks to Pastor Jordan for a wonderful sermon, “The Master’s Fabric”, on our first day of 2012. His message that Heaven is real, yield to God, and acknowledge God are important steps for our happy year! Slowing down can be positive in our lives. We can often welcome a red light and use this time to meditate. Rushing can cloud our judgement and cause us to overlook the important things.
Psalm 91:1 says, “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of The Almighty.” Think about this: God listens to us when we pray for others and He blesses them. When we are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for us and we are blessed.

On Oct. 1st 2011, we had no idea that we would be meeting in the fellowship hall on a regular basis. God is here as well as in the sanctuary of New Bethel and what blessings we have received from Him. The sanctuary should be ready to re-enter soon, thanks to the work of the committee, Donald, Billy and Calvin along with Darrell and many others who have prayed and helped in anyway that was asked of them.

We will be having various speakers each week and some of these have actually applied to be our pastor. While we have not appointed a search committee, you could be listening to your next pastor. Brenda has posted a list of these on our monthly calendar. Please continue to support our church with your attendance and talents. Everyone is very important to the fulfillment of God’s kingdom!

God Bless you and your families. God loves you and so do I.

Weekly Bulletin Message - 1/1/12

2012….Can you believe we are already here?

Although we will miss Pastor Tommy, we will continue to pray and support him in his new ministry. I would like to thank Billy, Eugene, and Chris for their hard work and brother Darrell for his leadership in 2011.

I am thankful that we have a wonderful church in which to serve God with our Christian friends. We must continue to strive to keep Him first. Whenever a member of our congregation does something good, we should acknowledge that person even if only with a nod. We are a team, not just a bunch of independent operators. Each person contributes to the success of everyone else.

1st Corinthians 12:19-20 says that each of us is a separate part of one body. While there are many members, we are one body.

Please continue to pray for the leadership and direction of our church that we will use our gifts, within the body of Christ, to build up, strengthen, and help carry out God’s purpose.
If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to call me @ 706-491-5480 or 706- 384-4276. Also any one of Deacon fellowship will be more than willing to help.

May God bless America and our church in 2012.
