Pastor's Weekly Message - 8/7/11

August 7, 2011

Today we welcome our teachers from the preschool: Karen Thomson and Gina Ayers. These two ladies have been with us for the last two school years and will be here this year.  You will be hearing from them both today. We are so blessed to have two ladies that love the Lord and love kids. They put in countless hours here at the preschool and many more hours at home for the kids. We have stated before that their families are very supportive of the school and their burden for kids. I am amazed at the love and passion that these ladies give each day for our kids. They are here during the summer getting ready for this new school year. It doesn’t take a person very long in talking with them to see they have a heart for kids. You will see in today’s bulletin how many kids have come through the preschool in the past. Several of them are church kids or family of church members who have attended.

New Bethel Church Preschool has touched a lot of lives in these past years. Some of these kids are seniors in high school now. WOW! Church we need to be involved more in the preschool ministry, and it is a ministry. These ladies are not making a living teaching here because the pay is so little. What they do and have done is give New Bethel Church a good name. We will be asking the Church to do more for the Preschool which involves money, time, and work.  Each year we have families in our Church who sponsor a child and, Praise the Lord, we have some this year.  If you would like to sponsor a child the cost for a 5- day-a-week child is $95 and a 3-day-a-week child is $80 each month.  Financially, we need help not only for the kids, but also for supplies and for other costs. We do have fundraisers during the year and we will again be doing some.  We want you to be part of this ministry and we need to reflect it in our support. If you know a way that we can help the preschool feel free to come and share with us. After all, it is your ministry too. It’s too powerful of a ministry to close the doors. Keep the preschool in your prayers and I know God will continue do great and mighty things.

Pastor Tommy

P.S. If you know a child who would benefit from coming to our preschool call the Church office!
