Today is another wonderful day to Praise the Lord. We are so blessed by the Lord daily and many times fail to Thank Him for all he has done. The weather has been wonderful: Not as hot during the day and cool nights. Change is in the air. School is back in session (Monday for Stephens County) and lives are getting back to normal - whatever normal means. I completed my classes this past Friday. Praise the Lord! But many of you are just starting.
There are a couple of things you need to look forward to coming up at the Church. Beside the Back to School bash on the ball field this Wednesday, our Revival will be September 25-28. Sunday night through Wednesday night begin at 7:00 P.M. Duane Eller, who used to be our youth pastor, music leader, associate pastor, and many other titles around here 12 years ago, is coming back. Duane has a unique way of sharing the Gospel, which I know you will enjoy and be inspired to do more for the Lord or just be a better Christian. I will be sharing more about him and the Revival in the upcoming weeks. The second thing that I want to share with you is Homecoming in October. We have a great day planned for our Church. Many of our former members who used to sing specials have been invited back to sing for us. Courtney has called and confirmed with several of them who are very excited about returning. This will be a great
homecoming service which you won’t want to miss.
We have one more study from the Book of Genesis. This last study was great in the fact that we dealt with forgiveness: Forgiving a person who isn’t apologetic for hurting you or what they have caused you. You can forgive them as Joseph did. For us to act like we can’t forgive someone because either their wrong was so great or their repentance is not genuine enough is putting ourselves in the position of God. Who are we to judge one another, meaning, who are we to decide whether or not we can forgive someone. We’re all sinners! God is the only one who can pronounce judgment upon someone. Joseph had every right to have his brothers thrown into prison for their past crimes against him. You may have every right to be unforgiving humanly speaking, but Joseph put everything in an eternal perspective and reminded them that he was just a man, a sinful man, just like them. Something to think about!
