Pastor's Weekly Message - 5/15/11

May 15, 2011

What a great Mother’s Day service we had. Connie Harris’ testimonial about their son Joshua was wonderful in the fact of how God had blessed them with two wonderful sons. Her praise of the Lord and her worshipful attitude was encouraging. To hear her love and joy showed us what it was to be a mother. The greatest word other than our Lord’s name is mother. No sweeter word than that. My mother is special and as I listened to Connie it reminded me of the Love that my Mother has for me. I was rejoicing and thanking the Lord for my mom. I was able to go up and spend the day with my Mother on Tuesday. We went out to eat at one of her favorite spots and rode around through the area to see the storm damage.   There are areas where they are still working on removing debris and some of the traffic lights are still out.

It is hard to believe that another school year is coming to an end. Next week the kids will be out for the summer. It too will pass quickly - maybe not for the parents but for the children. We had our Preschool graduation this past Friday night at the Church and it was fun. The kids all have their own personalities. Each year you wonder if the next class can be as great as these kids were. Much praise goes out to Mrs. Karen and Mrs. Gina who worked so hard this year and did an outstanding job with the kids. They are ready for school next year and their new teachers will be glad for all the training and instruction they had here. These ladies have put their hearts into the kids and it shows. Each one of them is loved in a special way.  They had me in tears just at the practice talking about the kids they are teaching. Church, we could not find any greater teachers than we have now. Their families are behind them one hundred percent.  They come and jump in as if it were their own ministry. Kent and Brandon are so supportive. When you see these teachers and their spouses tell them how grateful we are for them.  Our Church is blessed to have them serving in this role.

P.S. I hope that you have signed up to have your picture made for the new pictorial. People want to put a name with a face.  This book will help identify you or inform you. Sign-up time is running out.
