We need your help. Help for what you may ask? The time has come for us to have a new Church directory. It has been a while since we had one made. People have joined and people have died or moved. Now what we need from you: First is an updated address. If you changed your address in the last five years we need the new one. Many who live in Toccoa have had address changes – the new 911 address is what we need. The second thing is new phone numbers. Many of you have done away with your landline and have cell phones only. We need your cell phone number. Third, we need all of you to have your picture taken so we can put a name with a face. Thanks the Lord that we have new families that have joined and are attending since the old directory was published. Now, who does this involve? All of our kids that attend on Wednesday night, and all the old and new members and their families. Yes, we want you to be part of this new directory even if you just attend once in a while. We have so many in our church who just do not know who people are, so this new directory will help.
We are planning to use Olan Mills to do the directory in May. The dates we are looking at are Thursday, May 19 – Saturday, May 21. There are three days that you can come and have your pictures done. There will be no pressure on you to purchase a picture. I told them that we will not allow that. You will receive a free 8 x 10 just for having your picture made even if you do not purchase other pictures. We will have a signup sheet with times and dates soon. By the way, we will have more than once photographer at a time, they will use Kodak paper, and they will give you the copyright to use your picture at any time.
The other thing to remember is that we are going to give some mothers on Mother’s Day a special gift. This is for the battered women’s shelter. There are two baskets on the table in the back of the Church that are samples of what we are doing. They are to include soap, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lip gloss and maybe a brush or something small. This is something that is small but speaks loudly. Don’t forget the Easter Lilies $10.00 in honor or memory of someone. We have 35 available now but could get more if needed.
